UCWHY Fashion Design from Belgium Presented at Cristofori in Amsterdam

UCWHY Fashion Design from Belgium at Cristofori in Amsterdam

The fashion label UCWHY presented it’s second collection yesterday (Sept 5th) at Cristofori in Amsterdam. Just as the presentation in Antwerp, where the brand is based, the venue was filled with flowers. Artistic Director Wim Bruynooghe completed a casual, or relaxed, ànd festive collection. Yes you’ve read it correctly: these opposite styles come together very well in the Spring-Summer ’18 collection by UCWHY! The brand choose to work with high-end fabrics in a daring and flashy colorscheme. Also nice to know: the collections are produced in Europe.

UCWHY was founded by Anne Chapelle (founder and CEO of BVBA 32, the parent company of well-known Belgian brands Ann Demeulmeester and Haider Ackermann. UCWHY will be sold at Menage à Trois in Amsterdam

Souvenir Doll With a Nasty Face

Souvenir Doll With a Nasty Face

Look what we stumbled on the other day. This Souvenir Doll is SO well made (by hand). But. What a nasty and unfriendly face she has! Or is she just sad? Never mind. It is some fine Folk art! N’est pas?

We think she’s from Poland but we’re not sure.

Mimi Berlin Visited Aalsmeer

Mimi Berlin Visited Aalsmeer

On a very Misty and Grey day, in typical Dutch weather, Club H.o.p. and Mimi Berlin decided to visit Aalsmeer. Situated in this small town, near Schiphol Amsterdam, is the largest trading centre for plants and flowers in the world. The flower auction is open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 07.00 to 11.00, and on Thursdays, from 07.00 to 09.00 (Royal Flora Holland). There are many colorful flowers to be seen, in bulk! But outside of the buildings there isn’t so much color to be found.

Nice to know: The Aalsmeer Flower Auction building is the second-largest building by footprint in the world, covering 518,000 square metres.

Pitch of the week: Flowers in shoes.
Wouldn’t this be a lovely page in a magazine? xoxo Mimi Berlin.
